Donation Station has been partnering with the Athens Farmers Market to fight hunger, reduce food waste, and support our local farmers since 2007. At the Donation Station booth we receive both food and monetary donations each week frm customers, vendors, and local community gardeners. We use donated funds to purchase produce from AFM vendors and distribute all donated and purchased food to our food access partners who serve individuals facing food insecurity . By supporting our local farmers to fight hunger, CFI and partners in the Appalachian Accessible Food Network are building long-term food security in the region. Organizations are welcome to contact CFI to inquire about picking up food at our weekly distribution to share with individuals facing food insecurity.
