AFM is hiring a market promotions manager!

For Immediate Hire: The Athens Farmers Market is looking to hire a Promotions Manager.

Job Duties Include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining AFM website using Squarespace.

  • At least twice weekly, monitor the afmkeepintouch@gmail.com email account

  • Promote AFM calendar of events via Yodel and social media sites.

  • Twice weekly, or more as needed, original posts to social media platforms, emphasizing SNAP/EBT acceptance and Produce Perks match program.

  • Twice weekly shares of vendors’ posts on social media platforms.

  • Organize, promote, and execute 3-4 social media capital events (1 is the American Farmland Trust annual Favorite Farmers Market contest) for AFM annually. 

  • Attend all AFM Executive meetings (approximately 2 hours a month), and all member meetings (approximately 6 hours a year). 

  • Communicate closely with the Executive Committee and Market Manager via email and phone.

  • Send press releases to local news outlets as needed.

  • Show up to at least two markets a month to take photographs for website and social media posts and/or assist with special events.

Requirements:

  • Have reliable means of communication via both phone and email.

  • Familiarity with the Athens Farmers Market.

  • Experience working with social media for a business or non-profit. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, or comparable software.

  • Experience creating flyers and brochures in InDesign, Canva, or comparable program.

  • Experience working with Squarespace or related web platform.

  • Ability to take high quality photos (with cell phone okay) for social media.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, for event set up.
